Gargoyles & Darkwing Duck Unite in Epic Disney Crossover Comic from Dynamite Entertainment
Dynamite Entertainment is thrilled to unveil an all-new Disney crossover event, uniting two of the most iconic animated series of the ’90s: Gargoyles and Darkwing Duck. Launching this January, Gargoyles / Darkwing Duck brings together the legendary creators behind both franchises for a must-read comic that fans won’t want to miss.

The Disney Afternoon block captivated a generation, and Gargoyles and Darkwing Duck became standout fan-favorites with their unique blend of superhero action, gothic drama, and offbeat humor. Now, for the first time ever, their worlds will collide in a dynamic new story arc packed with magic, mayhem, and mystery.
“The first show I ever worked on at Walt Disney Television Animation was Darkwing Duck, learning the gig under Tad,” said Weisman. “So nothing seems more appropriate than for Tad and I to team up for this crossover!”
The story kicks off when Demona, the vengeful villainess from Gargoyles, teams up with sorceress Morgana Macawber from Darkwing Duck using a magical mirror to set a new plan for destruction in motion. Sensing danger, Darkwing Duck and Launchpad McQuack hop aboard the Thunderquack and fly to Manhattan, where they soon find themselves face-to-face with Goliath and Elisa Maza. Sparks fly, misunderstandings erupt, and a classic hero-vs-hero clash might be just the beginning.
The crossover is penned by the ultimate dream team: Greg Weisman, the original creator of Gargoyles, and Tad Stones, the mastermind behind Darkwing Duck. This marks the first time Stones has written his beloved duck defender in over 15 years — and the reunion is just as exciting for the creators as it is for fans.
Stones added, “Greg had no problem stepping into Darkwing’s world — he helped build it! Collaborating again has been a joy, and this event is a new highlight in my career.”
The creative team is rounded out by artist Ciro Cangialosi, who brings experience from illustrating Dynamite’s Negaduck, and letterer Fabio Amelia. An impressive lineup of cover artists, including Ivan Bigarella (DuckTales), Clayton Henry, Declan Shalvey, Cangialosi, and Stones himself, will make each issue a visual treat for collectors.
With original creators back at the helm and two beloved worlds colliding, Gargoyles / Darkwing Duck promises to be a landmark Disney comics event for both longtime fans and new readers alike.
